Looking Back at 2025: A Year of Awareness, Advocacy, and Community Impact
As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for every conversation started, every story shared, and every person who stood with us in support of a future free from domestic violence.
At Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence, this past year was about more than visibility. It was about creating space for education, healing, advocacy, and community connection. Every initiative, campaign, conversation, and collaboration helped move our mission forward and reminded us why this work matters.
Our 2025 recap video captures some of the moments that defined this year for us. It reflects the strength of survivors, the support of our community, and the growing commitment to breaking cycles of silence, stigma, and abuse.
A Year of Purposeful Awareness
Throughout 2025, we continued to raise awareness around the realities of domestic violence and the importance of prevention, support, and community responsibility. Awareness is not just about being seen. It is about being heard, understood, and taken seriously.
This year, our work focused on helping more people recognize the signs of abuse, understand the barriers survivors face, and engage in meaningful dialogue around safety, respect, and accountability. These conversations are not always easy, but they are necessary.
Strength in Community
One of the most powerful parts of this year was the continued support from our community. Change happens when people come together, and in 2025, we saw that in many ways.
From supporters who shared our message online, to community members who attended events, engaged with our campaigns, and helped amplify awareness, every action made a difference. We are grateful for each person, organization, and partner who chose to stand with us and help strengthen this movement.
Domestic violence affects individuals, families, and entire communities. That is why community support is not optional. It is essential.
Creating Space for Conversations That Matter
A major part of our mission is to open the door to conversations that are too often avoided. Silence protects abuse. Conversation can challenge it.
This year, we continued to encourage open, honest dialogue about domestic violence, healthy relationships, emotional safety, and the importance of support systems. Whether through content, outreach, awareness campaigns, or direct engagement, our goal remained the same: to make it easier for people to speak, seek help, and support others.
Every conversation matters. Every shared message can reach someone who needs to know they are not alone.
Honouring Survivors and Their Strength
At the heart of our work are survivors. Their strength, resilience, and courage continue to inspire everything we do.
This recap is also a reminder that behind every statistic is a real person, a real story, and a real need for compassion, safety, and action. We remain committed to building awareness in ways that honour lived experiences and recognize the strength it takes to move forward.
Moving Into 2026 With Intention
As we step into a new year, our commitment remains strong. There is still work to do, and we are ready to continue that work with purpose.
We will keep creating awareness.
We will keep encouraging dialogue.
We will keep showing up for survivors.
We will keep pushing for a future where safety, dignity, and support are not out of reach.
To everyone who has supported Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence in 2025, thank you. Your support helps us continue this mission and expand the reach of this important work.
